Naked man in WalmartA 47-year-old man was bitten by a rattlesnake in the outdoor garden department of a Walmart (WMT) store in Lewiston, Idaho, this week. The rattlesnake latched onto the man's hand, prompting him to scream, shake the snake loose, and then stomp it to death.

A peculiar incident, yes, but hardly the first odd thing to occur at one of the retailer's 3,878 U.S. locations: Strange things seem to happen in Walmart stores all the time.

True, Walmart is the nation's biggest retailer, which gives it plenty of opportunities to play host to weird happenings, but even given that, the stores seem to exist in a parallel, Twilight Zone universe where such odd episodes are bound to ensue. One can almost picture Rod Serling in a blue Walmart vest, suavely greeting customers by the sliding doors, and introducing the strange tales about to unfold.

Here are a few of the bizarre incidents that have played out at a Walmart store.

"Store staff called the police, and the man was charged with two felonies: attempting to obtain property under false pretenses, and presenting a phony document as a legitimate form of payment."

None of our money is on a gold or silver standard, and although recognized and accepted, really has no value - so aren't we all presenting phony documents as methods of payment?

In Detroit strolling naked in the aisles of your favoirite store is a normal activity. It keeps the folks happy and less likely to riot.

I used to work there and yes, weird stuff happens. While I worked there, I worked in the clothing area and a woman managed to return pants she had her period in. The pants were from another store, a brand WM doesn't carry. A woman had a heart attack and died there too. An employee got stabbed, another employee found cocaine inside a fitting room-apparently someone left it there after they tried on clothes. And there was a ring of employees including some managers that got arrested for stealing thousands worth of merchandise.

i was in our local walmart very early one day and found that the dirty rubber and carpet floor runners they use to prevent customers slipping were laying across the exposed produce...filthy side down and touching all the fruit
in the bins. i complained to the 'manager' who said that thisthe way they were able to clean the floors before the store opened.
when i mentioned what a violation of the health practices this was i was told to 'mind my own business'.
later that day i went back to the store to complain to the daytime manager and all i got was 'i'll look into it."

who is watching the store? there have to better better controls at all times. my thinking is that because it was very early they didn't expect anyone to see what they were doing. how disgusting!!!
