Target Debuts 'Almost Last Minute' Holiday Sale Retailers are finding ways to put a fresh spin on the classic limited-time sale this holiday season.

In stores and online, Target (TGT) is launching the Almost Last Minute Sale, which it's touting as a new sales event from Dec. 8 to Dec. 11 that will offer discounts on items from its most popular gift categories, such as home, apparel, accessories, toys and electronics.

To spread the word about the promotion, the cheap-chic discounter will drop an eight-page ad in daily newspapers nationwide Thursday. Shoppers can get a preview of the event on Target.com.

During the Almost Last Minute Sale, shoppers will also receive Target gift cards with certain purchases.

The deals include a Sony DSCW-530 digital camera for $89.99, down from $119; counter top appliances such as a Black & Decker 12-cup coffee maker or an Oster Belgian waffle maker for $25, reduced from $39.99; Merona cardigans and pullover sweaters for $25, marked down from $32.99; Gilligan & O'Malley pajamas for $10, reduced from $17.99; and classic board games like Twister and Operation for $8, reduced from between $9.89 and $16.99.

why use sale gimmicks to draw customers into the store, A sale items never arrived, after one month the rain check is no good. I called the store everyday for one month, the sale item never came.
well guess what, the same sale item appeared again at a higher price, guess what Its not even in the store another, rain check. I'll take my business elsewhere. I was told that the corporate office makes the decisions about the sale adds. hey guys get your act together

My family is disappointed to see Rachel Crow be eliminated. Based on "singing for your life" performances Rachel clearly OUT performed Marcus. Rachel has been consistent throughout the contest while Marcus has been in the bottom two for several weeks in a row. Nicole, really...if you are a judge then JUDGE. To try to play neutral and whimp out by shirking your judging responsibilities, you have done a huge dis-service to Rachel, the fans of the show etc. Stop crying and do your job.

The best way to get a real good bargain is not to buy one, until you have did your home work and got info from all the resorces you could have purchased from about the items you are interested in buying. Locally and Online...Keep Safe and Be Savvy. Merrry Christmas to All & Happy New Year

I have hated Target ever since I bought a $14 alarm clock there and found the same one at Walmart for $7.

I love Target. Their selection is good, their lighting is good, and their staff is always pleasant. Oh, and one more thing, their store is always clean.

I do not care for WalMart one bit,

I think saw and ad for Walmart also offering store gift cards with ceratin sales as an enticement. Also, is it me or do the stores not feel like Christmas this year. Very little decoration and many stores don't play holiday tunes anymore..sad.

Do you suppose anyone at Daily Finance owns shares in Target?
