In this challenging economy, when U.S. unemployment is far too high and our national and personal bank balances are much too low, one profession that continues to thrive -- and perhaps even benefit from all the uncertainty -- is psychics. According to Penelope, a "hands on healer and psychic medium" who charges $125 for an hour session, she has seen an increase in male customers amid these hard times.

"I do think that [men] are more open now because I feel that they don't know where to go to get direction at this point," she says. "You're not going to your mortgage broker or your banker or your investment person for guidance because nobody really knows what's going to happen, everything's unstable. So they're looking for outside things, to have an edge, to understand the market conditions. There's all different variables for them."

To learn more, DailyFinance met with Penelope and Jeffrey Wands, a psychic who has assisted with national searches for missing children and who counts celebrities among his clients. He charges $175 for 30 minutes.

God doesn't balance my check-book Jason, I do. And He gave me the good sense to do it, I don't doubt that.

Are you freakin' kidding me? There is only one that people should be seeking out, whether it's in good times or bad, and that's God. Because when you're close to Him, He has your back and always will. Psychics are a fraud and a con and will get you nowhere.

I teach people in my "Celebrating Financial Freedom" course that the best way to succeed financially is to use biblical principles and the good old fashioned common sense that our country has forgotten over the years. Quick fixes, psychics, get rich quick schemes don't work and will only lead you further down the path to financial destruction.

You have to become educated as to how you got into your situation and how to make it better. Then you have to take action to make it come about. No medium is gonna do that for you.

Hmmmm... I predict that these consumers will waste a lot of money. I'm also going to go out on a limb and predict that the sun will rise towards the east this morning. All additional predictions require payment.

Hey, when in doubt, give your money to the nearest con man. Sounds logical to me.

What a rip-off! Leviticus 19:31 warns us- Don't go after them with familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them. I am the Lord your God.
How sad that many are seeking answers thru astrology, witchcraft, voodism and psychics-demonic spirits that will only take your money and deceive you with lies.

The only good predictors are past performance & research. And like anything else in life there are many tangents and variables. Praying on the desperation of others to get rich quick. Has hurt my Sect more than you know. More than any other outside force. There are many of us that use our intuition among other things to solve cases. And our success rate makes others think it is supernatural. When in truth we are good profilers on all aspects of human nature. Including the whims of the market or solving a cold case. Called being aware an no one has the corner on that. To say otherwise is very misleading.
If someone asks you to cough up cash for advice and lets call it what it is. Advice. The intent is not necessary good. Meaning most likely neither will the outcome. To those that take cash for advice. Karma is a witch!!!!
To those that do not....blessed be.
