Divorce lawyers revenues are down. Couples cannot afford to split up. The old days of fighting over possessions and particularly the house (with nice equity like it used to be), are over so they continue to endure each other. Strangely enough, much like the situation with lenders. Some short sales are being made, but most of the really ugly stuff (debt to value) is sitting on the lenders books and not on the market. Why?, their balance sheets cannot stand the hit. I wonder if a banker can divorce his or her self?

Well...... men are doing nothing to regain their position in US society. No wonder we let millions of illegals into the country! Yes we are cash cows and that is the way women view us. Not only do they want an employed man they want a rich man! That is what we are for. We are also for entertainment an taking out the trash. However, there is a rise in lesbianism so the women can marry them and they can take out the trash. See... it all balances out! I don't know why we can't work it all out.

The political power trend is towards single moms and minorities siphoning off a ton of government money to subsidize them. Men are viewed as irrelevant to the family, possibly physically dangerous, and a cash cow assisting their subsidization. Many don't realize men's numbers are shrinking in higher education and getting crushed in this economy, not to mention pervasive political correctness now tilting about everything in women's favor. Thus women are becoming alpha aggressive and men omega passive. Women won't marry unemployed men

Bottom line is the male cash cows are disappearing in number and are about extinct. We'll be loaded with single women run households there won't be enough money available to support. The answer to the state of family finances, divorce, depression? Don't get married in the first place, don't have kids, and you might be emotionally depressed but not financially.

Never let another person have access to YOUR banking debit or credit card! BIG, HUGE mistake.

It's far simpler to just put a specific amount on a replenishable card and tell your children: you have this amount of money to spend over this specific period of time. When it's gone, it's gone.

As to marketing to the "newly single"--businesses are assuming you have money after the split. They apparently haven't seen the statistic that says newly divorced women with custody of their children take almost a decade to recover financially. Newly divorced men recover the financial ground they lost in the split in about a year.
