$11 million Christmas tree How's this for bling? An Abu Dhabi hotel has unveiled a jewel-encrusted Christmas tree worth more than $11 million.

The 40-foot-tall tree is decorated with silver and gold bows, ball-shaped ornaments and white lights. Its branches are draped with 181 diamonds, pearls, emeralds, sapphires and other previous stones.

It is the "most expensive Christmas tree ever," said Hans Olbertz, general manager of Emirates Palace hotel, according to Agence-France Presse. "The tree itself is about 10,000 dollars," Olbertz said. "The jewelry has a value of over 11 million dollars."

The Emirates Palace hotel, which hopes to register the tree in the Guinness Book of World Records, is no stranger to luxury. For $1 million, guests can enjoy a seven-day package that includes a private butler and chauffeur-driven Maybach luxury car.

And there's even a vending machine where visitors can buy gold.

For the same reason they wasnt a mosque at Ground Zero. The information they have received on us is as corrupt as the information we had on the american indian when the takeover took place. Or maybe that sums it up.

I visited Abu Dhabi, saw that awesome hotel several times, as I drove around the city. Luckily I stayed at my American architect friend's house there -- for a week, didn't have to pay hotel costs -- had breakfast at the Hilton which is practically 2 blocks from this famous hotel. Abu Dhabi and Dubai are awesome places to visit. I live in California.

I wonder if the muslims extremists will attack the hotel as this is a christian symbol in a muslim country. they seem to attack everyother place

Yes, indeed the Dhabians have once again proven that there is NO excess too grotesque for them to stain the entire world with. I only hope that one day their disgusting mockery of the OIL ******* world who is paying for it all, can be finally exposed, so the REST OF YOU PEOPLE understand.

I also wonder what their "Poor, Starving, Downtrodden, Opressed & Living in Squalid Gaza" Palestinian Brethren have to say about stuff like this?

I saw pics of the Gaza Strip - you'd be proud to live there - it's beautiful.
The only thing they're worried about is having it blown up. No kidding!

The red cross is taking down all their manger scens, and othr christmas items becasue they might "offend" muslins. Best Buy won;t say Merry Christmas because it might offend "someone" My jewish and muslin friends like the christmas season and they know us christians celebraste this way as they do in their own relegions. It never occured to most of any offense until the liberals said it might.
