U.S. Treasury Secretary Geithner Hospitalized U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner was hospitalized Friday to undergo surgery for kidney stones, according to a MarketWatch report.

Geithner, who was admitted into George Washington University hospital this morning, is expected to undergo surgery later today. According to the report, Geithner is expected to be sent home Saturday, should be able to return to work on Monday -- providing he rests over the weekend.

According to medical websites, the creation of kidney stones is unrelated to stress. For Geithner, whose is facing a rising wave of criticism from conservatives, that's probably a good thing.

Any bets on whether MR. FED HEAD will pay the taxes on his hospital bill, paying taxes seems to be a problem with him. However, as he is one of the privileged elites we commoners will no doubt pick up the bill in true socialist fashion.

It is easy to complain, find fault , or critisize. But the guy is under major stress. He is in an extraordinary situation. Best qualified or he wouldn't be there. I wish him well and a speedy recovery.

bocavert. Oh, a tax evader the head of the Fed. That makes him the best qualified or he wouldn't be there. Try not paying your taxes and see if your "messiah" offers you a big high paying job. Or perhaps you don't pay taxes and your hands are in the pockets of we who do? It's got to be that or you've got your Kool Aid spiked with some real serious stuff. Try spell check next time, Sparky. CRITICISE. Your comment won't make much more sense than it does due to its content but at least you'll come off as one who can spell.

Kidney stones usually is a result of eating rich food. Not that I wish anyone to get sick, but I think its payback for not having paid his taxes even though he was second in command at the treasury at the time. Of course the only ones who have to pay taxes and obey the law are American Citizens. If you are an illegal immigrant you get amnesty and enjoy all the priviledges of citizenship because you crossed the boarder without getting caught. And our Royalty ( politicians looking for more votes) think that's just fine. This guy along with most of the Obama appointees is incompetent just like his boss.

Exactly. And don't forget about how the city of Oakland and the state of CT are creating "special" banking accounts for illegals through Chase bank. What burns me is how SMUG they are about it. I know that between Bank of America issuing credit cards to illegals before the financial meltdown and Chase creating special banking services, I will avoid them. Hopefully, others will find out about this and transfer their money and close their accounts.

Just think if Geithner was under Obama care like us common folk, he would not get the excellent care he is getting now, WOW what a double standard.

LOL he's not screwing the IRS, he is top dog at the IRS. He avoided paying taxes until he was caught and then wrote a check. REGULAR people would have everything confiscated and imprisoned. Look at Charlie Rangel, one of the biggest jokes in Congress. Cheats on taxes, does all kinds of illegal crap and gets censored. Big whoopie. But, the state of NY keeps voting in morons like him and Weiner (I just wish he'd learn to pronounce his name, but weener suits him since he whines like a little girl)
