exterior, Groupon building. Daily deals as giftsDaily Deal sites like Eversave, Groupon and Living Social have really taken off this past year and as you begin your holiday shopping it's worth checking out these group-buying websites for great deals on gifts.

According to a recent survey by Eversave, you won't be alone, with 45% of respondents saying they will be looking for gifts on daily deal sites and 91% saying they would appreciate getting a deal voucher as a gift.

With many consumers still doing holiday shopping on a a reduced budget, buying a daily deal voucher can be a great way to make sure you get something nice for everyone on your "nice" list.Eversave has created a video of tips for holiday shopping with deal sites.

In addition to signing up for deal alerts in other cities, you can also check out daily deal aggregators like Dealery, Yipit and Dealnews which collect the daily deals for numerous cities in one place so that you can cut down on the amount of email you get.

There are a couple things you should keep in mind before giving a daily deal voucher as a gift.
  • Expiration Dates -- Many daily deal offers come with expiration dates, some of which are much shorter than what you'll find on a gift card.
  • Fine Print -- With discounts 50% off or more, there's usually some fine print about the deal, such as when it can be used or by whom.
Even if you don't plan to give a daily deal voucher as a gift, the site can be a great way to buy the physical gift. Look for deals you can use to pick up popular items like gift baskets, perfume and clothing and send it yourself to someone on your gift list.
