WikiLeaks, the website that publishes confidential documents, jumped to a Swiss domain name after hackers attacked its American domain.

The attacks prompted the American domain name provider, EveryDNS, to withdraw service, The Associated Press said.

"Wikileaks.org has become the target of multiple distributed denial of service attacks. These attacks have, and future attacks would, threaten the stability of the EveryDNS.net infrastructure," EveryDNS said in a statement.

WikiLeaks confirmed the move in a tweet.

"WikiLeaks.org domain killed by US everydns.net after claimed mass attacks," the tweet said.

It was not clear where the alleged attacks were coming from. WikiLeaks can now be found at wikileaks.ch.

WikiLeaks has faced intense criticism in recent months after publishing confidential documents about the war in Afghanistan and U.S. relations with Pakistan.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said the leaks put "people's lives in danger."

Earlier this week, WikiLeaks' Swedish server host said it was hit by a cyber attack just before the site published thousands of classified U.S. diplomatic messages.

The leaks put people in danger, let's talk about the Private, a soilder in the US military who had a fight with his significant other and then in a fit, downloaded all these cables (well, that's a whole nother kettle of fish -- security must be lax to allow downloads of classified info) and then put them all over Facebook. How do you think WikiLeaks found this stuff -- it was on facebook. But the US government hasn't pulled facebook yet. At least this week. I have been reading foreign papers and let me tell you, the US news leaves alot of info out. Oh, Patricia the Guardian U.k claims that the british will not extradite Julian over to Interpol until the charges have merit with documentation to support the claim of rape. Apparently, the two womem had consenual sex, however a condem was not used, and thus the rape charge. At least that is what The Guardian.Uk is printing in the press

If the Brittish do have his location, why have they not sent him to Sweden to face the rape charges? Supposedly he is residing in England right now (according to recent news). He is a criminal and I hope a rape charge is considered very serious in Sweden.
