Meijer recalled a ceramic heater because the oscillating mechanism can short out and catch fire, said the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
No injuries have been reported, but Meijer has two reports of fires that damaged property, CPSC said. About 6,700 of the Touch Point Oscillating Ceramic Heaters were sold in Meijer stores in Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan and Ohio from October 2009 to October 2010 for about $25 each. The gray/silver heaters are about 10 inches tall and have a front screen. The heaters were made by Ningbo Dongji Electronic Tech Co. LTC of China and imported by Meijer. The recalled heaters are Touch Point PTC with model number PTC-902 and serial numbers between 35005-43008. Both the model and serial numbers are on a sticker on the heater's bottom.
Consumers should not use the heaters, but return them to a Meijer store for a full refund.
