Friday Freebies: Tampons, Makeup, Pet Food And More

three pints of Ben and Jerry's Imagine Whirled PeaceThis week's Friday freebies cover the basics -- tampons, makeup, pet food -- and include three smashing free food deals that require a small purchase. It's rare that I include freebies that aren't totally free, but I think you'll agree these deals from Starbucks, White Castle, and Ben & Jerry's are worth it. Bon weekend!Get a free sample of O.B. tampons in a cute carrying case when you share your name, address, email, date of birth and gender. Answer three questions about your use of tampons, then click submit. Expect your free tampons to arrive in the mail in a few weeks. Unclear how long this freebie will be around. Caveats:while supplies last. Colors and design of the tampon case may vary. Limit one per household.

Get a free makeup sample from Sephora when you download its iPhone app. The freebie is for a sample of Tarina Tarantino's Pearl Glow Primer. Once you've downloaded the app, look under the Shop section for the promo code to get the freebie. If you have a Blackberry or other smartphone, Sephora has an app for you, I'm just not sure it comes with a free make up coupon. All the Sephora coupons and freebies are bunched together. Most require some kind of purchase. With any order you get three free samples and free returns.

Get a 6-ounce sample of free dog or cat food from Purina through PetSmart when you make an in-store purchase. Or, you can choose to get $3 off any bag of Purina Pro Plan cat or dog food, any size. The freebie/coupon expires Dec. 31, 2010. The voucher does not say how much you have to spend to get the freebie, so maybe you can simply buy a small dog treat that costs a few cents. To get the freebie or coupon, register for PetSmart's free PetPerks program. Share your name, email, address and one phone number to register, then print the voucher for the freebie or coupon. Make sure your printer is turned on and has paper because you may not get a second chance.

Get free in-flight Wi-Fi on all domestic flights on Virgin America, AirTran, and Delta between Nov. 20, 2010 and Jan. 2, 2011. The airlines are partnering with Google Chrome, an internet browser, to offer this holiday gift to customers. Every single airplane on these carriers is outfitted with GoGo Inflight Internet, according to Google. All you need is your laptop or smart phone to get connected. GoGo costs about $13 for a cross-country trip and less for shorter flights. I've used the airlines internet service at 35,000 feet and it works surprisingly well. Once I had a video chat with a friend while I was miles above Kansas.

Here is a freebie for Citibank customers only, so don't abuse! Get a cup of free coffee at 7-Eleven through Dec. 31, 2010. The freebie is for one small coffee and excludes iced coffee. One coupon per customer per day. The coupon is on the second page of the link. The free coffee coupon is tied to publicity for 7-Eleven's 28,000 ATMs, which no longer have a fee to get cash. You can make a deposit at some of the ATMs. Caveats: only valid at participating locations. Not valid with any other coupon or discount. Copies not accepted so print out the original if you plan to use this more than once.

Buy one holiday drink and get the second drink free at Starbucks between 2 p.m. -- 5 p.m. through Nov. 21, 2010. Holiday drinks include the Peppermint Mocha, Caramel Brulee Latte and the Gingerbread latte. It's unclear if the Christmas Brew take-home coffee beans and instant coffee are part of the discount, but I'm guessing not. More Starbucks deals are in store. Send the text message "12DAYS" to 29943 before Dec. 1 to receive a daily offer texted back to you. The promotion ends Dec. 12, 2010. No word yet on what the deals will be. Standard texting rates apply. Text STOP to cancel the texts from Starbucks.

Get a scoop of free ice cream at Ben & Jerry's when you buy a gift card worth $10 or more at one of its scoop shops. Seeing how a scoop of Ben & Jerry's ice cream can run you $3 or more, this is a sweet bonus -- pun intended! The only problem with this deal is that there is no expiration date. Ben & Jerry's shops won't accept this coupon forever, though it's likely the free ice cream deal will last through the New Year because it is such a strong incentive to buy Ben & Jerry's gift cards as holiday gifts. Next time you stop in, make sure to ask how long the promotion is running.

To celebrate the return of its sweet potato fries, use this White Castle coupon to get free sweet potato fries with any purchase. The freebie fries are the super saver size (I'm guessing that means teeny tiny). The sweet potato fries come with a new cinnamon dipping sauce. Coupon expires Nov. 30, 2010. The fine print says one coupon per customer per visit.
