WalgreenWalgreen (WAG) Chief Financial Officer Wade Miquelon was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving last month, The Chicago Tribune reported. It was his second such arrest in a little more than a year, the paper found in court records.

According to the Tribune, Miquelon, 45, was stopped by police on the evening of Sept. 25, almost exactly a year after being stopped for similar charges. He later accepted court supervision for driving under the influence.

This time, Miquelon was charged with three offenses: having a taillight out, driving with a suspended license and driving under the influence. He will lose his license for three years and have his supervision prolonged, the Tribune reported.

Michael Polzin, a spokesman for Walgreen told the Tribune of the arrest: "We're aware of it. It's a personal matter, and we don't comment on personal matters."

Companies have to disclose "events that occurred during the past 10 years and that are material to an evaluation of the ability or integrity" of an officer. This includes whether the person "was convicted in a criminal proceeding ... (excluding traffic violations and other minor offenses)," according to the Securities and Exchange Commission.

So the question becomes when does such an issue stops being a "personal matter" and starts becoming a "material" one. And what does it say about a person who makes such repeated mistakes, risking himself and others in the process? Can shareholders trust him with running the finances of their company?

The apple does not fall far from the tree, so to speak. This is one of the many reasons Walgreens has become such a joke to me. From the CEO to the lowly cashiers, they both and Walgreens as a whole just sucks and is 100% crappy. Should they trust him with running Walgreens? Heck no fire his ass.

Lizzard944...I agree cops shouldn't be allowed to search your car without a good reason but, In the REAL world?...cops seem to be just a little above the law! And most judges will back their officers. Unless your as rich as Paris Hilton, I suggest you let them search your car no matter what you feel is your "rights" Otherwise, look into getting a second mortgage on your house to pay for a good Lawyer to defend those rights!

I refuse to shop at Walgreens after they had a sale advertised, and then changed the prices back up. They "claimed" it wasent the same item, but the bar codes showed it was! I Use the other stores now, at least they are honest.

I'm sure nothing will come of this. "These people" live by a different set of rules - and are allowed to do so - than us ordinary folks.

No Body is born drinking, it is a choice one makes! They choose to drink and they destroy the lives of those around them. I for one could care less about those who choose to drink and love the bottle more than their famlies!
