Apple (AAPL) will preview a new version of its Mac OS X operating system at its headquarters in Cupertino, Calif., next week, Barron's reports, citing an invitation from the company.
The unveiling of Mac OS X's updated version will be part of a broader introduction of Mac products on Oct. 20, according to the publication.
The company sent out the invitation as its share price rose in advance of its fiscal fourth-quarter earnings results, which are expected to be announced Oct. 18.
Apple shares surpassed the $300 threshold Wednesday for the first time. The stock has advanced 42% this year.
