Is Verizon Finally Getting the Apple iPhone 4?

×

Apple (AAPL) plans to make a version of its popular iPhone 4 available through Verizon Wireless by early next year, according to a published report.

The iPhone is now available only through AT&T (T). Adding Verizon Wireless (VZ), the nation's largest mobile phone operator, could significantly boost sales of Apple's phones, which face rising competition from smartphones that use Google's (GOOG) Android operating system.

The New York Times, citing an anonymous source briefed by Apple, reported the development late Friday. The Wall Street Journal also reported the move earlier this week.

Jeffrey Nelson, a spokesman for Verizon Wireless, declined to comment. Tom Neumayr, a spokesman for Apple, said he wouldn't comment on "speculation."

It's long been rumored that a version of the iPhone would soon be made for Verizon Wireless. A Verizon Wireless executive earlier this week downplayed the possibility of an iPhone using the company's current network. The executive suggested that an iPhone could be made available later for a faster Verizon Wireless network.

Verizon says Scruu the small company on the Superpages. Large companies can buy prime space over your paid ad. A very limited free ad. is available on the superpages. When you pay for a business listing (I'm paying about $190.00 per month) they include a Superpages ad. ( this one is not free, you don't get it without a paid ad and it contains much more information about the company). I did a search for my company name (Computerized Results), clicked on the link to the Superpages ad and what did I see??? A BIG BANNER FOR SUPERPAGES THEN A BANNER FOR A COMPETITOR then about 1 inch of the top of my ad. Verizon thinks they can do whatever they want. It's time for all the small companies to join forces and force Verizon to recognize the power of Small business Money on their bottom line. I think a class action law suit is in order if any legal firms will pick it up. I can get alot more advertising for my 190 a month if I don't pay Verizon to advertise my competitors
