GM Recalls 4,000 Cadillac SRXs for Fluid Leak General Motors is recalling nearly 4,000 Cadillac SRX crossover vehicles from the 2010 model year to repair power steering lines that may get damaged and leak fluid, the automaker said Thursday.

The problem has resulted in at least one fire after power steering fluid leaked onto hot engine parts, but there have been no crashes or injuries as a result of the defect, GM said in a statement.

The recall covers 3,996 SRX crossovers built last December. Most of the vehicles were sold in the U.S., but 341 were exported to China, the automaker said.

Owners will be notified by mail. The inspection and any necessary repair will be performed for free, GM said.

The Detroit-based automaker notified the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration of the planned recall on Sept. 29, Reuters reported.

I own a chevrolet, and my wife drives a Dodge, but that's not to say I wouldn't buy a foreign made car if I needed another car. Foreign car companies pour billions of dollars into our economy, probably as much as our domestic car companies do.

Why is it that when I click on a thumbs up or down that it doesn't always register. Then when I try a second time, it says I already voted, but a zero remains just the same. Is this part of their editing?

Well somebody is full of crap. You can pour power steering fluid or oil all over a engine and it won't catch on fire.Flash point is to high. You would have to have a gas leak and other problems to provoke that.I ain't buying it.

Engine oil, automatic transmission fliud (oil) and power steering fluid (also oil)can all catch fire under the right circumstances. The headpipe on the exhaust and the converter both get hot enough to ignite oil when the engine is under a load. It's probably a very slim chance but Cadilac is just being careful.

The president doesn't own the company, we the people own a part of it. And really...the birth certificate thing again/still? I think Faux News is rerunning Glenn for the 4th or 5th time tonight. Why don't you go memorize what he said...I heard he cried for his country again.(I just don't know what country it is...not America, that's for sure) How long before he becomes an evangelical, looking for your 'donations'?

Since 1995 I have owned 5 Cadillac Sevilles. All were great cars with no problems, the ride and comfort can't be beat. I just purchased a mint condition 2002 and could not be happier with it, and it cost less than anything new including a Kia. Best part is, I own it, no payments!

This is a Cadillac MADE IN MEXICO. What do you expect. The American Car companies are building their vehicles in Mexico to skirt union employees. If president OBAMA figures this out, more heads will be bumped.

For two years running Toyota had more recalls than any two other manufactures combined. Where were all the critics then.
