Cheap flights during Southwest and JetBlue fare sale

Southwest just launched a three-day fare sale that has cheap flights as low as $59 one way. Today also, JetBlue launched a one day sale with one-way prices as low as $29. Buy your Southwest tickets by Oct. 7, 2010 (though the best fares will sell out sooner) and travel through Dec. 14, 2010. These prices are valid every day but Friday and Saturday.

A handful of the many one way $59 fares on Southwest include:

• Albany to Boston
• Austin to Corpus Christi or Houston
• Baltimore to Boston or Cleveland
• Boston to Philly
• Burbank to Vegas or Phoenix
• Chicago to Pittsburgh or St. Louis
• Vegas to Orange County
• Los Angeles to Oakland or Phoenix or San Francisco
• New Orleans to Houston
• New York to Baltimore

Caveats on Southwest fares: blackout dates are Nov. 23 - Nov. 30, 2010. Fees and taxes still apply. Prices available through Southwest.com or SWABiz.com. You must buy your tickets 14 days in advance of your travel. These fares cannot be combined with Senior Fares.

The JetBlue fare only requires seven-day advance purchase, but has many more caveats and restrictions. The JetBlue cheap flight sale ends Oct. 5, 2010, and is valid for travel between Oct. 12 and Dec. 15, 2010. Blackout dates Nov. 23 to Nov. 30, 2010.
Fees apply. Fares are $15 more if you book over the phone.
