Westlake Village, Calif.-based Dole Food Company (DOLE) is the largest fresh fruit and green produce supplier in the world. Yet it's a company investors don't think of when it comes to buying stocks. The reason: The company went private in 2003 after it was rescued by David Murdock from bankruptcy about two decades earlier. Murdock took Dole public again in October 2009, raising $446 million, but the stock disappointed, closing below its offering price.

But Hilary Kramer, editor of GameChangerStocks.com says that the company -- and the stock -- will be a big beneficiary of an Obama-backed push toward healthy food, especially in schools. Sugary soft drinks will be out, fresh fruit will be in. Kramer also points out that Dole Food is now doing well: The company's net income is growing, and the stock has great fundamentals and catalysts to generate growth and pay down debt.

While this isn't an investment for quick gains, Kramer says that she expects Dole to make solid progress and believes the stock will hit $15 per share in 18 months. That's an increase of 50% from current levels.

GOOD TRADERS/INVESTORS DO NOT NEED TO RUN AN INVESTMENT SITE AND CHARGE YOU )THE PUBLIC) FOR A SERVICE being provided. GOOD TRADERS/INVESTORS SIMPLY MONITOR THE MARKETS, PICK THEIR OWN TRADES/INVESTMENTS AND PUT THEIR OWN MONEY IN THAT TRADE/INVESTMENT. IF YOU ARE THAT GOOD YOU DON'T NEED A WEBSITE AND HAVE TO SELL YOUR SERVICE.

what a croc of crap. this is NIT the time to own equities. PERIOD. so now this expert wants you to believe they have the one stock out of thousands that will "outperform"...lmfao. These same experts that led the sheep to slaughter in high tech now want you to buy pineapples. ROGLMFAO! uh huh. oh wait, now they will start saying "buy what you know". lol. People. Listen up. Ive been trading the markets for over 30 years. DO NOT BUY STOCKS. DO NOT LISTEN ABOUT THAT DIVERSIFICATION CRAP EITHER. In bull markets all stocks go up and in bear markets all stocks go down. Even pineapple stocks. CASH IS KING. NO INTEREST ON YOUR CASH WILL LOOK HUGE COMPARED TO 30, 40, 50, 60 PERCENT LOSSES ON OTHER INVESTMENTS. RIGHT NOW, THE BEST THING TO DO IS WAIT PATIENTLY. LET THE CROWDED TREASURY TRADE PLAY ITSELF OUT. SOON EVERYONE WILL BE SELLING TREASURIES THUS CAUSING INTEREST RATES TO RISE. AT THAT TIME, TAKE YOUR CASH AND BUY TREASURIES WITH A DECENT GAURANTEED YIELD BACKED BY THE FULL FAITH AND CREDIT OF THE UNITED STATES GOV'T. ps: forget cd's. They are backed by crap. The fdic is broke. Its a false sense of security when the bank tells you they are fdic insured.

tstockski, You should look to the spending of ronald regan and yes, your ole bush before you complain about our president Obama. David Stockman, ronald regan's budget director came out of the closet and told America about the republican plan for plenty of spending and tax cuts so the democrats if elected would be in debt. Lets see, ronald regan called it the cold war and bush called it war on terror.

Is Dole Food an AMERICAN OWNED company, or is it another one bought by outsiders..foreigners? If it is owned by anyone other than AMERICANS, we won't be buying anything connected to Dole Food. All the foreigners want to do is destroy AMERICA, and then take us over. And, OUR STUPID government is allowing this to happen. I think there should be a law passed that NO FOREIGNERS can own ANYTHING on AMERICAN SOIL EVER AGAIN. EVERYTHING they have bought in the last 50 years, should revert back to America, and owned by AMERICANS, and ONLY AMERICANS would be allowed to work in AMERICA. If ALL of this was put into place 100 years ago, we wouldn't be in the mess we find ourselves now.

I think that Karmers thought process in part includes Obama being around longer than one term and that Obama is in fact the reason that these things are on the table as options. I do not agree with that but just yesterday in my city I saw where two school districts have prohibited childern from bringing meals perpaired at home and if they bring there lunch from home it has to be prepackaged foods with ingredints and nutritional information printed on there package. This policy is already being challenged in court and I suspect it will not survive the challenge. But it does seem to be the way the wind is blowing and could be good for such a investment.

Fruit companies such as Dole as notorious for labor rights abuses in Latin America and Asia. When the EPA banned a dangerous pesticide (Nemagon), Dole begged Dow Chemical to buy its supply, then sprayed it on plantations in Nicaragua for several years. Now workers who suffer cancers, infertility, and other maladies are trying to get justice in Nicaragua and US courts. In addition, fruit companies routinely hire thugs to intimidate and even assassinate union leaders. This is well documented. See www.usleap.org . I would hold stock in Chiquita or Dole if it were handed to me.
