OpenTable launches Groupon-style restaurant deals saving you 40%

The restaurant reservation site OpenTable has launched heavily discounted Groupon-style vouchers for restaurants in Boston and New York that save you 40% off your tab. There is only one deal in each city, however, so don't get your hopes up too fast. For both deals, you pay $25 for $50 worth of food, a hefty savings. These deals expire tonight, Aug. 11, at 11:59 p.m. EST -- so act quickly if you are interested. If you'd like to find out about future deals, sign up for their emails through the links below.

The Boston restaurant deal is for South End Buttery, which serves contemporary American cuisine. The New York restaurant deal is at Gordon Ramsey at the London. It serves French-inspired cuisine. To use these vouchers, buy one on the site, then print out the voucher they email you. Mention it when you make a reservation (they may not be valid on Friday and Saturday nights) and make sure to follow the rules, below. You have until February 11, 2011 to use either voucher.

Caveats for both coupons: One certificate per table. Only valid for tables of two or more. Dine-in only. No cash value or cash back. Entire amount must be used in one visit. Not valid with any other offer. Gratuity is not included; they ask you tip on the price of the full meal. Only the Boston restaurant voucher excludes alcohol, which is unusual, so double check at Gordon Ramsey if alcohol is covered by the voucher. If it is, score!

Buying one of these vouchers saves you approximately 40% on your tab. Here's how:
* $50 worth of food costs you $25
* 9% tax on $50 costs $4.50
* 15% tip on $50 costs $7.50

You end up paying $37 for a $62 tab. Woot woot!
