Join Groupon, get discounts

You have joined your local Groupon, right? The "social buying" site operates in 103 big and small cities across the country. Basically, a bunch of people buy into a local deal to get a super discount, usually a minimum of 50% off and sometimes as much as 90% off. The deals are for restaurants, salons, gyms, and other services.

If Groupon doesn't provide deals where you live, Check out Living Social, Tippr, FreshGuide, or SocialBuy. And if THAT fails, there is a new site called CoupReCoup that where you can buy and sell unused social coupons.
