Gold prices were essentially unchanged in early Wednesday trading despite a mixed bag of economic data. Gold futures for August delivery, the most heavily traded contract on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange (CME), recently ticked up 70 cents to $,1235.10 an ounce.
