Get a free scoop of ice cream at Friendly's this Saturday, June 5, 2010 as part of Free Ice Cream Day. The freebie also marks Friendly's 75 years in business. Stop by between 12-5 p.m. at participating Friendly's restaurants for the free treat. Last year the chain gave out 500,000 free scoops of ice cream. I'm not sure if soft serve is included.

Friendly's has all the basic flavors (vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, mint), plus a lot of creative ones (watermelon sherbet, black raspberry, and maple syrup). I don't believe the free scoop comes with toppings.

Friendly's has locations in 16 states on the East Coast, including Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Vermont, and Virginia.
