Target has put out many great collections on its way to becoming the cheap-chic mothership, but few have ever been as high-concept, highly anticipated and perfectly timed as the one that drops Sunday: Zac Posen for Target. As a longtime chronicler of the retailer's forays into fashion, I think this collection has the potential to be the best one yet.
Posen is the go-to red-carpet couturier for everyone from Beyonce to Tina Fey -- who recently landed on a dozen worst-dressed lists for this Zac frock, which I actually thought was kind of adorable. But if you agree with the groaners, then take a look at her in this Zac gown instead, because no one can argue its beauty.
Anyway -- back to your own Posen moment. The Target collection is extremely affordable, even compared to other Tar-zhay designer lines -- prices range from $16.99 to $79.99, outside of one showstopping lipstick-red leather jacket that retails for $199.99.
Even better, it contains a plethora of pieces you can wear right now, through the summer, and even back into the cooler seasons (i.e. many of the colors and fabrics work as well in the winter as they do in the summer, and the cocktail dresses would look as good over black tights as they will over tanned gams).
My top picks from the collection -- look for them at your local store: the animal-print sailor dress, which Nicky Hilton has already stepped out in ($39.99), strapless flower-print brocade dress ($79.99) and structured black tuxedo jacket ($49.99).
