Andrew "Randy" Kwasniewski, 56, president of Morgans Hotel Group Las Vegas and chief operating officer of Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, was found dead Wednesday morning, and that afternoon, his death was ruled a suicide. Police discovered Kwasniewski's body inside his home in Summerlin, a high-end Las Vegas suburb, dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to Clark County (Nevada) coroner Mike Murphy.

Kwasniewski, a 30-year veteran of the hotel business, joined Morgans Hotel Group in 2006. Late last year, the Hard Rock, under his watch, completed a tower as part of its $750 million expansion. At the close of the market yesterday, Morgans Hotel Group stock was up 2.13%, at $4.80 a share.
