With the invention of Wi-Fi on airplanes comes a new opportunity for coupon codes. You can get a code for 25 percent off GoGo in-flight Wi-Fi, which is available on select flights on AirTrain, American Airlines, Canada Air, Delta, United, US Airways, and Virgin America.
To get the coupon code play this GoGo game, which is so simple it's frustrating. You start by choosing whether you want "news," "sports scores," or "e-mail" to win. Then enter your e-mail address and a case-sensitive anti-spam code. On the next page three helicopters race to the top of the screen.
The frustrating part is that you don't seem to be able to control anything. The winner is totally random and has nothing to do with which option you selected. I played and got a third prize code for 25 percent off, which is better than nothing. But it would be nice to be able to affect the outcome.
You can play again with the same e-mail address but you have to wait three hours. The game ends Feb. 28, 2010, and the coupon codes are good through March 31, 2010. Each time you use the game code in-flight you are entered into a giveaway to win a netbook.
GoGo Wi-Fi costs about $13. I've used it multiple times on Virgin America and found it as quick as my broadband service at home. Once or twice it cut out, but overall it was very reliable.
Caveat: you must have Flash 10 installed on your computer to play the game.
