Coffee lovers, here's some good news.
You can now pick up a branded canned latte while shopping for carrots and milk.
Starbucks's little sibling Seattle's Best is debuting ready-to-drink coffee in major grocery, convenience and other retail outlets.
The branded iced lattes cans will first appear in the West Coast later this month in states such as Arizona, Nevada, Oregon and California.
This latest venture is a partnership between Starbucks and Pepsi-Cola North America Beverages, and it will allow Seattle's Best to get a piece of the $1.4 billion market ready-to-drink coffee market.
"We are well-positioned to continue the growth of Seattle's Best Coffee by broadening our overall portfolio and awareness in new channels, bringing new customers to the brand," said Michelle Gass, who was recently appointed president of Seattle's Best, in a release. "By entering the growing ready-to-drink coffee category, Seattle's Best Coffee is able to meet the needs of more specialty coffee consumers looking for a high-quality, uncommonly smooth ready-to-drink coffee experience."
Known mostly for its specialty coffee cafes and kiosks, Seattle's Best has more than 550 locations in North America. The company already sells packaged coffee in supermarkets across the U.S. and Canada and its recently introduced cans will include iced latte, iced vanilla latte and iced mocha flavors. The suggested retail price? $1.49 per can or $4.99 for a four-pack.
