Many of the discounts provided are tied to credit card loyalty programs, which typically offer good discounts on purchases but are often forgotten about when it comes time to shop. Since 70% of online purchases begin at a search engine, Offer Assistant makes it easy to find the savings you already deserve.
After installing the Billeo program, a little icon identifies search results at retailer where a discount is available. When the discount isn't tied to a specific card, you'll see a small Billeo icon, and if you do need a card, for example an American Express, a small AMEX logo appears next to the search result. When you move your mouse over the icon you'll see the discount details including coupon codes and disclaimers.
Another cool feature of the Billeo Offer Assistant is that it will remind you to enter the coupon at checkout with a pop-up and can even populate your billing information.
During a demo of the Offer Assistant, I found that the process worked very well and provided users with unobtrusive yet easy-to-find prompts for savings. My favorite part about the Offer Assistant is that you don't have to go looking for a coupon code and hope that it works; everything is laid out in front of you.
In addition to appearing in search results, Murali Subbarao, CEO of Billeo, told WalletPop that the offers will also be showing up in the product links you see on review sites. As someone who is a compulsive researcher of online gadget purchases, I'm looking forward to having Billeo tell me about additional savings at the end of a review.
