While some stores will try to woo you with 10 %off and flashy animations, Toys R Us is slashing prices soo much, you'd think Santa himself had underwritten the sale. Even if you hate the fact that Christmas decorations are already on sale and develop a nervous tic if you hear Christmas music before October; these sales make Black Friday seem like just another shopping day.
From July 19 through the 25 you can score these impressive sales in store or online at ToysRUs.com:
- The Hannah Montana Malibu Beach house is only $79.99; that's $100 off retail and $80 cheaper than Amazon!
- Guitar Hero: World Tour Super Bundle for Wii or Xbox 360 for $99.99; $90 off retail and $30 cheaper than the lowest price online plus you get a $10 gift card.
- 50% off Milton Bradley Games.
- $40 off of Power Wheels Barbie or Kawasaki Lil' Trail Rider.
Additionally, on July 25, from noon to 2 p.m., children can visit Toys R Us for a holiday-themed celebration, including Christmas cards, games, coloring and even a candy cane! There will also be special in store only sales that day including $40 off a 7" Colby DVD player and 50% off of Littlest Pet Shop VIP pets, Transformers Animated Bumper Battlers and Razor "A" Kick Scooters.
Retailers aren't just cutting prices to be nice. Despite news that the economy should begin to recover later this year, economists predict that it won't be until 2010 that anything resembling a recovery will be felt. Combine this news with growing unemployment rates and the fact that it will take even longer for many consumers to regain their confidence, and this could be the worst Christmas season in my lifetime. The good news for shoppers is that deals like those listed above will be more common as the race to December 25 begins.
Even though I expect retailers to kick it into overdrive later this year, these deals -- especially Guitar Hero: World Tour Super Bundle and half off of Milton Bradley games -- are hard to pass up, particularly for those of us who are still a Toys R Us kid, no matter our age.
