It's losing tens of millions of dollars. It's under constant attack by conservatives. It's hobbled by a sister paper whose employees would rather go down with the ship than take a pay cut. How could things get any worse at The New York Times?

How about a skewering by The Daily Show?

"Did you know they still make paper newspapers these days?" asks correspondent Jason Jones, who for some reason was granted access to the embattled paper's newsroom, and to its executive editor, Bill "the last of a dying breed" Keller. "It's true!"
Jones was, um, not a gracious guest. "You guys are like a walking Colonial Williamsburg!" he exclaims at one point.

He says he was just kidding, telling the Times's Dave Itzkoff, "I think everyone has a genuine love of your institution here, because it's the first paper that almost everybody reads here in the morning."

Daily Show, you have a funny way of showing love.
