At least one concert this summer will be playing to the reduced budgets of concertgoers as Staind kicks off its summer "Stimulate This!" tour in July with Chevelle, Shinedown and Halestorm. Billed as the "Rock's Ultimate Stimulus Package" the tour brings seats under $40 to most venues and features plenty of lawn seats starting around $10.
The tour will set up shop in 40 cities this summer starting in Peoria, IL on July 1 and wrapping up with a performance in Philadelphia, PA on August 30. Packing four well-known bands into a venue with discounted concessions, merchandise and discounts at local retailers is an incredible event, and as HitFix.com points out, a steal at only $2.50 per band! Along the way concertgoers can also expect to be treated to appearances by bands like The Offspring and Sum 41, and even then lawn seats only cost $20.
While you can get sub $40 tickets for other summer music festivals, like the Vans Warped Tour, which features more than 60 bands, the lawn seats available most Stimulate This! shows are where the real deals are. Even with Ticketmaster convenience fees and building/parking fees you should still come out with a ticket close to $20 at the cheapest venues. At two venues currently offering presales on the most expensive $40 tickets, the fees for ordering online adds an additional $11, so the truly cheap should try to book directly with the venue to avoid paying more than they have to.
For those about to rock (cheaply) We salute you!
