Since we all like free things, and these days, free seems an especially elusive concept, I thought I'd mention to everyone that Sony Electronics is in the midst of a 40-city/40-day tour.
The SVP of corporate communications and host of the Sony blog, Rick Clancy, is visiting each Sony Electronics' store and talking to customers. He says that he wants to talk to everyone about what they like about Sony products -- and what they don't like. (Don't worry. I'll get to the free part of this in just a moment.)
The first 20 customers to talk with Clancy at a Sony Electronics store will receive a free movie pass to see Sony Pictures' upcoming release, Hancock, starring Will Smith and opening July 2.
Clancy will be yakking with the crowds in Los Angeles soon: at the Topanga Plaza in Canoga Park on June 30 from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., and later that day, at the Beverly Center in Los Angeles at 2:30-3:30 p.m., and that evening, at the South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, California, from 7-8 p.m.
Later in the week, he'll be at a Sony Electronics in Seattle on July 2 from 5 to 6 p.m., and at the Cherry Creek Mall in Denver from 2-3 p.m. on July 3.
And this will go on until July 11. So if you know of a Sony Electronics store in your area, check out the press release. Unfortunately, several states have already had Clancy pass through, but he still hasn't reached stores in some states including Oregon, Michigan, Missouri, Illinois and Ohio. Ohio? Oh, wow, he's coming by Cincinnati at the Kenwood Towne Center from 3 to 4 p.m.! I could get a free ticket! Yowza!
I wonder if I currently own any Sony products... and if it's worth interrupting a work day to spend something like $8 in gas to get a ticket that would cost me, maybe $9? Hmmm..
